The Reverend Dr. Bob Shettler

our Senior Pastor!

Dr. Robert (Bob) Shettler was born in Maysville, Kentucky to Rev. and Mrs. Robert Shettler Sr. His father is an retired Southern Baptist pastor and his mother is a retired school teacher.

Bob's ministry began in high school where he worked on the staff of the Kentucky Baptist Assembly for four summers. In his thirty-five years of ministry, Bob has served at the First Baptist Church of Longwood, the Highlands Baptist Church in Ocala and the College Park Baptist Church in Orlando. In 2000 he moved from the Baptist Church to the First Presbyterian Church of Orlando as a Minister of Evangelism and Global Missions. During those days he transferred his ordination to the Presbyterian Church USA and since 2005 he has served as Senior Pastor here at First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville.  Bob married Connie Davis in August, 1973. They have two grown daughters, Elizabeth McCormack whose husband is Frank and they have one son, Larkin Davis McCormack. Their younger daughter, Kelly, is married to Dr. Forrest Crabtree and they have two sons, Robert McIntyre, and Selby Parker. Bob enjoys spending time with Connie. They enjoy cooking and working in the yard together. He enjoys college athletics and to be outdoors. He occasionally plays golf.
