Youth Connection

Youth Connection will resume in the fall.

We will keep you informed of any summer events.

Have a wonderful summer!

Youth Connection is for kids in grades 7 through 12.  We meet Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m., after Senior Choir.  While it is not necessary to sing in the choir to be a part of Youth Connection, all of our kids are participating in both at this time.

At 5:30 p.m. we eat dinner together with our college leaders.  The meal is prepared by one or two families.  At six o'clock we break into two groups, one for Mid-highs and one for Senior highs.  These groups have Bible related discussions.  It is not a Bible study, but we apply the teachings of the Bible to our lives.  After this 30 minute meeting, we go to the Chapel where one of the college leaders leads us in some contemporary songs, reads Scripture, offers a message for the week, and closes with prayer.  The final activity of the evening is recreation in Gordon Hall.  We play the classic games like Trash Can, King Frog, Toilet Brush Soccer, and Clothespin Grab.  By 7:15 p.m., we are finished.  Some evenings we do service projects like make bag lunches for the homeless and then deliver them on the streets downtown, visit the elderly members of our church, go caroling, or go tell prospective members why we like First Presbyterian.  During this past year, we also raised money for Haiti by babysitting for kids and we raised $1,250 for Gainesvillle Community Ministries with Souper Bowl of Caring.
