Youth Sunday
Souper Bowl Sunday
The sermon title is Careful Talk and the Scripture reference is Ephesians 4:29-32. The Rev. Larry Hendon will preach at the 8:30 service in Iona Chapel and Communion will be served. The youth will be preaching at the 10:55 a.m. service. Sunday school for all ages will be held at 9:30. Nursery care is available from 9:30-noon for families attending Sunday School and/or Worship. Please check the church website at www.1stpc.org more information on adult Sunday School classes.

Souper Bowl Sunday On February 5th, Youth Connection will once again host Souper Bowl of Caring after church. For a donation, you decide the amount; you can take your pick from over 20 different types of soup. You can come back for seconds, thirds, or even more for as long as there is soup in the crock pots. 100% of the donations will be given to Gainesville Community Ministries. Last year we raised over $1600. If you cannot stay, our Senior Highs will be accepting donations after church. Just look for the kids with the big soup pots. Checks are accepted: write Souper Bowl of Caring in the memo line.
Parking Updates The street parking on 3rd Street on the south side of Second Avenue is clearly marked with signs as a tow away zone 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The local residents pay for a decal to park there. Please use our parking lot to avoid a ticket and/or a tow. This applies both to services and concerts and other events.
Please reserve the parking spaces behind the church for those who would have difficulty crossing Second Avenue.
Short Course Sunday School Class The class will focus on men, their spiritual growth and leadership in their homes. This class will be taught by Rev. Dr. Robert Shettler and the material will be based on the Bible and The True Measure of a Man by Richard E. Simmons III. Please join us at 9:30 a.m. in room 201 on February 12, 19, and 26. Please RSVP to Carol Israel at 378-1527 or assistant@1stpc.org, so we can have an adequate supply of books available.
Gainesville Community Ministry is always in need of food and financial resources. At this time, they are in need of all types of nonperishable foods. Please check the Publix Buy One Get One special this week. When shopping the BOGO at Publix, you can use 2 coupons even though you are only paying for one item. Thank you to all who have helped to Meet Human Needs. Please remember that the need is great year round.
